Professional Consultation: Often times families are in need of consultation regarding their child’s current functioning, or they may simply have questions regarding an area of development. Our therapists have many years of experience and are available to parents for consultation on a variety of topics. If the child is new to the clinic, an initial evaluation is required so that information can be based on objective measures. Our staff is also available and can be scheduled to attend medical appointments with families if they are interested.
Lending Library: We have a number of books and resources that other families have found helpful! Please feel free to borrow them! We also work closely with area lending institutions, product manufacturers, and area families to provide equipment for families to borrow! Equipment ranges from adaptive bikes to walkers to modified Halloween costumes!!!
Advocacy for IEP or IFSP development: The IFSP and IEP development process in birth to three and early childhood programs can be overwhelming to families who have children with special needs. Our therapists have many years of experience and training in the development of these complex documents and are very capable in assisting families with this process. They are able to attend meetings if needed.
Home Modifications: Families often times have questions regarding how to make their home accessible for their child or questions about what type of bath chair, etc. might work best for their child. These concerns can be addressed through a home visit by one of our therapists.
