Handwriting Without Tears is a program that teaches children of all ability levels.  It is designed to focus on pre-writing, printing, and cursive.

The Pre-Kindergarten program teaches body awareness, correct grip of the writing utensil, counting, shape recognition, and letter/number formation.

The printing and cursive programs focus on fine motor, posture, and developmental sequencing involved in handwriting.  We work on preventing and correcting the reversals of letters and numbers.

We believe in utilizing music, multi-sensory, and hands on manipulatives to prepare children and teens for handwriting in all programs. Our staff believes that progress and success begins when a positive atmosphere is created!  Our goal is to make all children and teens see writing and education as a positive experience!!

The  Occupational Therapy and Educational Therapy staff at CI are well qualified to provide the Handwriting Without Tears Programs.  In addition, these teams can provide additional support to make the process of learning and growing in the academic world a positive experience!
